How should damaged ropes be repaired?

The ship's cable should be threaded through the winch or, if approved, through the cable pile. It is not allowed to fix the ship's cable to the cross cable pile or drum. A detailed inspection should be conducted at least every 12 months throughout the entire length range of all ship cables, and all records should be kept on board and provided for inspection upon request. Since use, the marine cable should be turned end-to-end every 2.5 years and records should be provided for verification.
For safety purposes, regular inspections should be conducted on the length, duration, type of work undertaken, degree of wear and tear, location of damage, and condition of damage to the cable, such as whether there are broken strands, twists, melting, and chemical contamination.
Compared to ordinary cables, double-layer braided cables have stronger wear resistance. However, in long-term use, it is still inevitable that the sheath will be squeezed, worn, or even broken. In order to extend the service life of the cable, it is necessary to repair the cable sheath according to different damage situations.
