Mooring Tail

Description

Mooring tails are designed to provide essential elasticity in a mooring system. This elasticity helps to reduce the peak loads transmitted from the wire rope to the vessel under dynamic conditions, such as those caused by wind, waves, and currents. By absorbing energy, they allow the ship to respond more smoothly and distribute loads more evenly across all mooring lines.

They are commonly manufactured from materials with high elasticity, such as Nylon, PP & Polyester blends, PP Multifilament, and UHMWPE yarns, which are superior to standard materials for this critical function.
